The vision of the Prayer Ministry is to see prayer become a normal part of our Christian lifestyle, where praying for others and receiving prayer is natural for everyone, permeating every aspect of our lives, and every aspect of the Ventura Vineyard — a natural flow of prayer, in which everyone can participate. We seek to provide opportunities to train and equip the church body not only with respect to their personal prayer lives, but also in ministry to others. We want the Ventura Vineyard to be known as a “House of Prayer” — a place where everyone regularly, authentically, persistently, and gloriously encounters the living God. Prayer is the normal, natural practice that springs from an intimate relationship with Jesus.
- Prayer Chain: Members pray over the blue “communication cards” that are submitted at the Sunday services. The requests on the cards are sent to the prayer chain via e-mail every Monday. Emergency requests are forwarded to the team as they are received.
- Prayer Team: Members are available after each service for those who need prayer.
- Special Events: The Prayer Ministry periodically sponsors special events, such as “Unhurried Days” (a day “apart” from our busy schedules, where we learn to listen and to hear from God) and “Time out for Moms” (a half day retreat, where mothers of young children can practice finding peace in the midst of the chaos of their lives). Watch the website for dates for these and other events that are designed to help everyone deepen their own prayer lives.
“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16.
We believe in a God who acts and speaks. If you believe the Holy Spirit is speaking to you during the service for all gathered here today, you can let us know. Text us at 805-665-3351. A prayer team leader will collect these messages, pray and respond accordingly.
